About Me: From Adversity to Empowering Movement
I’m Grant Wenger, the founder of Muscle Activation Techniques Bend. My journey into Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) is deeply personal, shaped by a life-changing event that ignited my passion for understanding the human body and its incredible potential for healing.
“This is my sister Mary Jo having MAT work done by my trainer Grant Wenger. Many of you have heard of my positive experience I have had with Grants work with my sore muscles or injures. My sister has been experiencing muscle pain because she is overworking the strong muscles. Grant was able to release some key muscles to get them to fire. Also my sisters brain can then connect the feeling of the muscles contraction. “ - Bob W.
I got the privilege to work with my clients sister . She was thrown from a horse 2 years ago and paralyzed. This is after using Greg Roskopfs muscle activation techniques. We were able to restore hip flexion. Which initially, there was none when I started. Also worked on hip extension. By the time I was finished she was regaining sensations/feeling and movement, which she did not have prior. The video is her moving her leg after working flexion.
Every muscle that I tested I was able to get a response, when there was nothing originally. She was feeling things she has not felt in 2 years. There is no feeling more rewarding than helping someone to move, after a terrible accident. I would like to thank her for giving me the opportunity to work with her. She is strong willed and I believe she will be able to walk again one day. Shout out to Greg Roskopf for taking the time to share this amazing technique. Appreciate all the hard work you have put into it. MAT is helping people out tremendously.
My Story
When I was a high school gymnast, I was in a devastating car accident that caused severe injuries and nerve damage. Doctors told me I might never fully walk again. But I refused to accept that prognosis. Driven by determination, I immersed myself in studying the human body, rehabilitation techniques, and the intricate connection between muscles and the nervous system.
Five years later, through relentless effort and a growing understanding of how the body works, I regained full functionality of my leg. This transformational experience not only restored my physical abilities but also shaped my mission to help others overcome their physical limitations.
My Mission
Today, with over 12 years of experience, I specialize in helping individuals from all walks of life restore strength, stability, and confidence in their movement. My work is deeply rooted in a belief that every person has the potential to move pain-free and efficiently when their body is properly supported.
I work with:
Individuals with Chronic Conditions: Supporting those with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT), arthritis, and other conditions to improve stability, reduce pain, and reclaim their lives.
